FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
We are a fine frozen food company. Our dishes are meant to be made on the stovetop or in the oven (no microwaves here) and served as your "main". We think it's the highest quality food you can prepare for the lowest amount of effort. Learn more at About Us.
-
We do. Unlike most frozen or packaged food, which is produced by third-party co-packers, every ipsa dish is prepared by our team of cooks.
-
The plastic containers we use are all recyclable and reusable (not to mention BPA-free), and our foil trays are recyclable...but we recognize that's not good enough. One of our core long-term goals is doing away with single-use waste of any kind, especially plastic. If you have suggestions for how we can do this, let us know!
-
At present, our courier service will take back cooler bags and return them to us for reuse, and in the long run we'd like to take as much of our packaging as possible back from our customers.
-
We'd love to hear from you! Send us an email to hello@eatipsa.com. A real human being will receive it and get back to you asap.

Nope. Just place an order any time you want to stock up.

We typically offer delivery between 3-8pm on Monday-Thursday in NYC, and 1-8pm Monday + Wednesday in Westchester, and 1-8pm Wednesday in NJ. tAs we grow, we plan to offer more options and narrower delivery windows. Our will stay good in your freezer for MONTHS, so choose a time that works for you!
-
That shouldn't be a problem. The easiest way to do this is to email us at hello@eatipsa.com...be sure to include your order number if you have it.
-
We send our customers a text message notification when the driver is en route, including an ETA and a tracking link to monitor the driver’s progress.

We're constantly working on new recipes, but don't follow a specific schedule for adding dishes to the menu. In recent months we've added several dishes a month, depending on what's available in-season. We're planning to add a few dishes in November as well. Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see on the menu–we're always open to suggestions from our customers.
-
We sure can try! Send us an email and we'll do our best to make it happen!
-
All of our dishes are designed to be reheated either in the oven or on the stove. Nothing against microwaves, we just want you to have a really great experience with our food, and don't think the microwave is gonna help us get there.

We most likely do! Have a look at the ingredients listed on the page for a dish you're interested in, and feel free to email us with any questions.
-
We source organic ingredients whenever possible...and we're not just saying that. The majority of the ingredients we use are certified organic, but we also source many ingredients that aren't organic–but they're the best of their kind for all sorts of reasons.
-
Unfortunately nutritional information is not available for our dishes at this time, though we are more than happy to answer any specific questions you have about a particular dish. Think of us like a restaurant: due to the small size of our operation and the natural variation that comes with producing food by hand in small batches, we aren't able to conduct a detailed nutritional analysis for each dish on our menu.
-
We 're committed to purchasing meat and dairy from small producers we know and trust to be producing to the highest possible standard of animal welfare and environmental stewardship. Not only does this approach benefit farmers, animals, and the environment, but it also leads to the most delicious, nourishing ingredients. To learn more, visit our Ingredients & Sourcing page.

Quite a while, but we hope you won't wait very long to eat it. Each of our dishes is labeled with a 'best by' date, which is typically 8-12 months from production, depending on the dish. That said, frozen food can last well past the 'best by' date. While we typically recommend eating our dishes within a year, they can easily last much longer in the freezer without a noticeable loss of quality. According to the USDA, frozen foods stored at or below 0°F remain safe indefinitely.
-
Definitely not, though some of our dishes can be defrosted before reheating to reduce prep time. Each dish's label provides guidance.
-
If any items have softened a bit and are still cool to the touch, it is perfectly safe to refreeze and eat them at a later date!
